We will have a special luncheon this month, based on the “Strengths
Finder” book you received when you joined Women’s Leadership Network!

However, you must take the Strengths Finder assessment BEFORE you
attend the luncheon. The assessment will take you between 30-45
minutes to complete.

Bring your “Strengths Finder” book and the assessment with you to the
luncheon on May 15th.

Kari Parmer will be joining us for the April luncheon in an effort to increase awareness and to provide information about breast cancer. As a Nurse Navigator, Kari works to make sure patients understand the diagnosis and treament options, helps navigate through the health care system, and ensures that you receive timely diagnosis and treatment (if needed.)

A special drawing will be held for “a free entry fee to “The Race for the Cure”. Plan to join us for a very informative presentation.

Heart attack survivor Shirley Mangini (representing WomenHeart)
Will be sharing her personal story and discussing Heart Disease.

Shirley is a Registered Nurse at St. Peter’s Hospital. She also graduated from the prestigious WomenHeart Science & Leadership Symposium at Mayo Clinic.

Shirley is one of 55 women from around the country – all heart disease survivors – who was selected to attend a four day symposium. She returned home as a leader to educate, advocate, and support her community on the issue of women and heart disease – the nation’s leading cause of death for women.

Shirley will be speaking to us about the prevalence of heart disease in women and how it is so often under diagnosed and mistreated. In addition, she advocates for prevention, early and accurate diagnosis, and proper treatment of heart disease.

Please join us in welcoming Tova Reddick. The topic she will be discussing is “Making New Year’s Resolution.” She will also bring a fantastic book with her called “SWITCH” by Chip Heath and Dan Heath that is about “changing when changing is hard.”

Tova works full-time as an employee health nurse and coordinates a wellness program at the V.A. She is finishing up her Masters in the Science of Nursing. She is an avid runner who has run numerous marathons, half marathons, trail races, and 5K’s.

Welcome Molly Buyske!! Molly hails from the plains of Shelby. Graduated from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD in May 2009 with a degree in theatre. She has spent last year traveling all over South Dakota with the Children’s Theatre Company of SD and is currently working at Luxan & Murfitt Law Firm! Her show is about 5 historical and 3 current influential females. It runs about 45 minutes and each woman tells a bit about herself. She has performed at Broadwater and Jim Darcy Elementary as well as the Historical Society. Well received, fun, educational and entertaining! Written and directed by Molly herself! Our Member Spotlight Speaker is Sharon Kuenzli, and our Member Sponsor Speaker is Tasa Beatty.
