Women’s Leadership Network is going to be meeting on July 21 and Ellen Baumler will be leading us through a walking tour of Historic Helena, ending at the Fire tower for a box lunch. We will be meeting at the upper parking lot behind the Windbag at the corner of Cruse and Broadway at noon. You may also want to wear comfy shoes and pack some sunscreen. We’ll make our way up Broadway, past the Assay Office, the Courthouse,and cross at Rodney. We’ll talk about the Rodney Street houses, walk down State Street, and make a little loop, come up Ewing and end up in the parking lot of the Tower Hill apartments. From there it is easy to get to the Firetower. This is Helena’s early high-class neighborhood, but includes red light, ethnic, and architectural history that dates from the 1860s to the 1890s. Ellen has delighted WLN with previous tours and it’s a real treat to hear the stories she tells. The walk will take about 40 minutes and each person on the walk will receive a copy of the new walking tour book.
